Climate Change

Oh Earth! Oh Earth, we hear your cries
As from your core they come.
A groan, faint moan, a thudding heart –
The beat of a leaking drum.

“We need your help,” these voices say?
But the sun still shines so let’s make hay
And think on this another day.
Other countries might then play.
We work hard and do our part,
Enjoy rewards we think are fair
So to quell each fearful heart
Denial fills the air.

Still deserts sear, still cyclones blow.
“Starvation”, don’t discuss!
Ice caps melt, isles sink below!
Come children, save the world from us.
